Bison grass

Bison grass is a plant native to Europe, Asia and North America. This aromatic grass from cold, humid zones finishes growing at the end of summer and can reach up to 60cm in height. The plant’s name comes from the Greek “hieros,” meaning holy and “chloe,”meaning grass, and has long been used in religious practices. In North America, it was burned as incense, and in Europe it was scattered on the ground at the entrances of churches. Thanks to its delicate, vanilla-like fragrance, it is widely used today as a fragrant base in sweets and perfumes.
