The power of plants

Widely cultivated in tropical regions, aloe vera dates back to the time of the ancient Egyptians. It is said that Cleopatra attributed the secret of her legendary beauty to the plant. Research carried out on the gel extracted from the leaf has revealed a high content of softening and moisturizing compound sugars (polysaccharides,) which is why aloe vera is used in cosmetics for its hydrating and soothing benefits.

Responsible sourcing

Protecting the soil and biodiversity is a longstanding commitment at Clarins. That’s why we have always given priority to plant-based key ingredients sourced from organic agriculture, grown using sustainable farming methods that respect nature and the health of the soil. For certain plants, like aloe vera, we practice multi-sourcing which means we rely on both organic* and non-organic extracts to ensure that the volume we require for our products is met. *Organic ingredients are produced in accordance with European regulation (CE 2018/848).
