Native to Madagascar, leaf of life is a resilient succulent plant that is full of water and nutrient-rich sap. Its leaves have the capacity to quickly produce new plants, symbolizing the regenerating power of life, and the plant itself appears green and fleshy—even in conditions of extreme drought. Leaf of life can adapt to hydric stress thanks to molecules which act like sponges to retain water inside the leaves. This action, similar to that of hyaluronic acid—the skin’s “sponge molecule”—inspired Clarins scientists who have demonstrated the ability of organic leaf of life extract to retain moisture deep within the skin’s surface, leaving it comfortable, radiant and ideally hydrated.
