It has also been called a “miracle tree,” possibly because this bushy shrub, native to the Mediterranean, has many unique botanical features. It is not only able to ripen its fruit in winter, but can recolonize land ravaged by fire. Its small round berries are covered in tiny conical bumps, and are known as strawberry tree fruit.
