<p><strong>The woman</strong><br />Myungsoon has devoted her life to children for over 30 years. As a young woman, her vocation was to be an elementary school teacher. When she visited a slum as part of her community service at university, she met children who were desperately in need of love and attention. Ten children were hanging on each finger as she walked down the narrow slum alleys. It was then she realized that this was where she was meant to be. She immediately moved into the slum herself, and got involved in slum life. She created a free kindergarten and began to teach young children.</p><p><strong>Her fight: « Corp. Leftovers Love Sharing Community »</strong><br />The foundation provides a range of activities and assistance for children. The mission was established in 1986 to educate and care for hungry, deprived and poor families in Korea. The mission provides educational opportunities for children from poor families, assists women and families in need and fights for their human rights.</p><p><strong>What about now?</strong><br />Various services have been provided over the years: after-school day care, cultural school activities, scholarships for children from broken families, education for poor women and with the IMF, they have started the Food Bank and set up an integrated child welfare centre for the unemployed, and broken and deprived families.</p>
