<p><strong>The woman</strong><br />In 1981, Ren&eacute;e caught the attention of a famous fashion editor, who convinced her to do some photos. The following year she was chosen to represent Denmark at the Supermodel of the World contest, which she won. From 1983 on she became one of the quickest rising stars of the international modeling world, being featured on the covers of numerous international fashion magazines. In 1988, she decided to take a break from fashion. Despite an offer to audition for the role of a Bond Girl in one the upcoming James Bond films, the following year Ren&eacute;e ended her modeling career and returned to Denmark to study journalism. In 2002, she completed her degree in psychology with success. In 2003, she published her first children's book, entitled Karlas Kabale.</p><p><strong>Her fight: &#171; Plan Denmark &#187;</strong><br />Plan is working for a world where all children knows their rights and can use them in a society whom is respecting children's rights. The goal is first to achieve and secure better living conditions for poor children in less developed countries. Moreover, it is to help less provided children to be able to cover their basic needs and to help them to increase their ability to be a part of and to benefit from the community.</p><p><strong>What about now?</strong><br />Ren&eacute;e has always been very committed to children and the conditions they face, and has, for many years, been active fighting for the acknowledgement and respect for children's rights across countries and cultures.</p>
