<p><strong>The woman</strong><br />Simone is an outstanding social worker who has been making a difference in the lives of children affected by HIV/AIDS. Her ability to counsel children and young adults, to understand their needs, her compassion, insight and the genuine love for her work shine through everything she does.</p><p><strong>Her fight: « The Teresa Group »</strong><br />The Teresa Group provides practical assistance and emotional support from professional staff and trained volunteers. Working in association with the HIV and AIDS Comprehensive Care Team at the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children and other community agencies, the Teresa Group provides leadership through example, information, education and innovation.</p><p><strong>What about now?</strong><br />Simone is trying to establish an early learning centre for young children aged 1 to 5 who are affected by HIV and AIDS.</p>
